Hello, Hello! Today's topic is a very important one. Self-Care. We all know that we need to take care of ourselves, but often times we get caught up in the day to day hustle and the demands of our jobs, our family, and our personal relationships. I personally find this to be very true as a health care provider and a mother of three children. The word outpouring comes to mind. How can we give when our tank is empty? The answer is quite simple. We must first fill our tank full in order to give to others. It is so important to take time out for ourselves. Here are a few quotes to get you thinking about self-care.
"In dealing with those who are undergoing great suffering, if you feel "burnout" setting in, if you feel demoralized and exhausted, it is best, for the sake of everyone, to withdraw and restore yourself. The point is to have a long-term perspective."
~Dalai Lama
"The perfect man of old looked after himself first before looking to help others."
~Chuang Tzu (c.360 BC - c. 275 BC)
"The name of the game is taking care of yourself, because you're going to live long enough to wish you had."
~Grace Mirabella (former editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine)
